Chök the chocolate kitchen is a new brand of gourmet chocolate. It has just opened its first shop in the centre of Barcelona, just off Las Ramblas.
Intsight were put in charge of creating the concept for the interior design. The styling, props and branding were carried out by Espluga+Associates.
Chök is situated inside an historic modernista edifice and many of its original features have been retained whilst bringing out the building’s unique character.
An important challenge for the interior designers was the creation of a show kitchen, offering the public the chance to see how the products are made or even take part in the workshops offered.
The floor, covered by Hisbalit little hexagonal tiles, also gives the space a strong personality.
White dominates the space, making chök’s delicious products really stand out. The display is open plan, permitting clients to pass between the stands and showcases of the ingredients. Among of all them, what they call chöks are definitely the highlights: bonbons, churros and crisps covered with chocolate.
A fundamental element is the different packaging concepts; they beautifully harmonise the space and the products they hold.
